Creating this Avani was a great engineering feat. The station is expected to be fully completed by 2011. Two people are always available to operate, repair and inspect the station. Since November 2, 2000, there have been 2 people. All the materials needed to operate the station, starting with construction materials, would have to be transported from Earth via spacecraft. The organizations participating in this large international joint effort are NASA, Russian Federal Space Agency, European Space Agency, Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency, and Canadian Space Agency. Apart from these, the Brazilian Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency are participating in various capacities.
